Sony announced the targeted release date of its All-new revamped PlayStation Plus service in Asian markets, Japan, America, and Europe. The new service will begin to roll out starting with Asia markets (exclude Japan) in May23,2022. Japan will be the next and targeted release date is on June1,2022 followed by America in June13,2022 and finally in Europe region by June22,2022.
In the announcement, Jim Rayan (CEO & President of Sony Interactive Environment) confirmed about expanding their cloud streaming access to the Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
PlayStation Plus (PS Plus): It’s a game subscription which offer a collection of games with a monthly fee. Through PS Plus subscribers can access multiplayer games online and also access new games each month at zero cost.
In addition to that Sony is bringing together both PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now in an all-new PlayStation Plus subscription service by this June2022. This will offer customers totally three-tier membership services viz PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Premium and PlayStation Plus Extra
PlayStation Plus Essential:
This is the basic and the cheapest tier for PS Plus with the same benefits as old one. This includes
- Two monthly downloadable games
- Exclusive discounts
- Cloud storage for saved games
- Online multiplayer access
PlayStation Plus Extra:
In this tier user gets the benefit of PS Plus Essential one. An addition of a library of 400 PS4 and PS5 games are available for downloading.
PlayStation Plus Premium:
This tier features all benefits from both Essential and Extra tier and adds up to 340 games from PS1, PS2, PS3(Stream over cloud) and PSP. Time limited game trial is an addition feature offered in this tier so that user can try games before they buy.
Existing PS Plus subscribers will remain on Essential tier.
