1) Host a webinar session & invite key stakeholders
Hosting a webinar session or dialogue for Youth within our community, city or country, and invite key stakeholders such as government representatives, scientists, experts, faith-leaders,representatives from indigenous communities, Other NGO representatives, community leaders,etc on this World Environment Day. The topics for the session could be adapted from your local context.
2) Social Media Mobilization
Social media provides an incredible platform for young people to connect with others around the World and is one of the most powerful tools in Virtual engagement.
3) Consult with fellow youth, develop a position paper and send to decision-makers
Preparing a position paper can be an effective way of making your viewpoint known to decision makers on this World Environment Day.Don’t forget about local issues! Youth can prepare postion paper relevant to the local region, town or neighbourhood.
4) Online quizzes, games and competitions
You can conduct online quizzes or competitions for willing participants about multiple topics regarding the environment and biodiversity.
5) Campaigns, actions and challenges on behavioral Change
Establish challenges on responsible consumption in the habits that affect ecosystems and therefore biodiversity.For example like planting a tree at home #TreeInHouseChallenge, inviting to build community gardens or homes, to promote bee habitat!

Humans have been exploiting and destroying our planet’s ecosystems for too long.
“Our ecosystem is losing enough forest to cover a football pitch every three seconds and half of our wetlands is destroyed. Almost 50% per cent of the coral reefs have already been lost and up to 90 per cent of coral reefs could be lost by 2050, even if global warming is limited to an increase of 1.5°C.”
This year World Environment Day theme #Ecosystem restoration means preventing, halting and reversing this damage – to go from exploiting nature to healing it.A global mission to revive billions of hectares, from forests to farmlands, from the top of mountains to the depth of the sea.
Only with healthy ecosystems can we enhance people’s livelihoods, counteract climate change and stop the collapse of biodiversity. Everybody living on this planet, in this moment can be a part of #GenerationRestoration
